a birthday card and some halloween fun!

hi everyone! hope you're having a great weekend! it's been a super busy week and i'm just getting around to  blogging a Halloween post! oh well- better late than never right?

my sweet sister in-law's birthday falls right before Halloween on the 28th-i think she's so lucky! i would've loved having a birthday/Halloween party every year!! This is the card i made for her.  i just love this sweet digital set drawn by Christy Croll at TiddlyInks. I use my inkjet printer and print directly onto a sheet of XPress It blending card- it works great for digis and coloring with copics!
I used happy colors and papers and my new MFT Circle Stax Sets 1 & 2 for the panel & the mat- LOVE!! I used a BG10 copic marker around the edges of her wings, then added stickles right on top for pretty sparkle! I popped up the focal and accent heart with boosters and i used a touch of felt and some hemp cord too!

here's a peek at the inside- i repeated the papers and hearts & stamped a simple message.
and a look at the dimension the front:

deets:
stamps: I used digital images from the set  Happy Bugg and Extras  by Christy Croll/TiddlyInks, the inside sentiment was created using MFT's By the Numbers stamp and dienamics set.
ink: memento tux black
paper: XPress It copic blending card, MFT cardstock in Razzle Berry, cream scalloped A2 note card (my stash), My Mind's Eye patterned paper (from Lime twist Life of the party 6x6 pad, sweet cupcake)
accessories: MFT dienamics (Circle Stax Set 1, Circle Stax Set 2, Hearts-a-plenty) copic markers, stickles, MFT whip cream felt, MFT hemp cord, a button from my stash, jody's awesome boosters

& here's some Halloween fun pics to catch you up a bit! As room parent of my daughter's 2nd grade class we had a huge class party. we also attended a private halloween party last week too! the kids loved their lollipop treats i shared with you in this post and i had fun making a 'puking' pumpkin (ranch dip for the veggies) and roasting sesame seeds. Mimi and i were zombies this year- so FUN!

sweet treats

i've been making quite a few of these treats for the upcoming 2nd grade Halloween party! i love using up my cardstock and patterned paper scraps (i had a drawer full of lager pieces). these are quick & easy to make (the die really does all the work!) and the stamp set has such fun background pattern strips (i used several at once!) The set also has circle detail designs and several sentiments to chose from too! You can go simple like i did, or get as crazy and detailed as you like- such a versatile, fun project! Mimi can't wait to hand them out :)
thanks for stopping by!

OMGosh- Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has a fantastic Halloween release today and posted a fun challenge yesterday! i was lucky enough to win 5 adorable new spooky stamps during the sneak peeks-WooHoo!! i ordered a bunch too- they are awesome!! if you play in the challenge- YOU can win a stamp from the new release too! i can't win twice of course- but i still had to join in the spooky fun!

i pulled out a KKS Halloween image from last year, Fred & Ginger (from the Moonlight Whispers line), and some Basic Grey Eerie patterned paper scraps too. i colored the image with copics (drew in bite marks on her arm too- i saw that on someone's card & loved it!), and added lots of stickles to her dress. Glossy accents were painted on her lips & his hair to make them shine! i used up a few strips of Heidi Swapp black bling/border jewels that i've had in my stash forever. i popped the image on top of a small dizzy doily dienamic from MFT. a sentiment from Kimmie's Halloween Sentiments and some gorgeous handmade roses from IAmRoses finished it off! here's a close up of her sparkly dress:

the inside is another sentiment from the set mentioned above, and the little jack-o-lantern accessory stamp that comes with Fred & Ginger:

i am still LOVIN' inking up my MFT tiny town halloween set- the images are just so cute and color up so FAST (good for when you have a ton of halloween cards & projects to make!)

side track/note: my fun Halloween star decoration made for last week's WSC, that used this same stamp set, won the gift certificate prize- YAY! my daughter & i were so thrilled & excited! You can bet we're so gonna spend it quick on some fab new MFT goodies releasing later this week!! YIPPEEE! thanks to Kim for offering such great weekly challenges & fab prizes. LOVE LOVE MY MFT!!

do you see all those teeny 3mm rhinestones on the card? i used a new product MFT is selling called Embellie Gellie to pick each gem up & place it on my card exactly where i wanted it. i think it's the first time i had 0 frustration and 0 lost tiny gems! LOL! You have to have some of this stuff- it's like magic! seems like one package will last forever too! love it!

here's the deets and some more pics:
stamps: MFT's tiny town halloween
sentiments are from MFT's Trick or Treat with Who's That Girl
ink: memento tuxedo black, memento paris dusk (accent ink)
