oh my-where did summer go? lol. it was back to school for us Aug 20th- crazy right? Mimi's a 2nd grader this year- and it's just amazing to me-these kids were all preschoolers yesterday and now they're so big, and want to be so independent, but i so want my sweet baby girl to stay little as long as possible! sigh...
not only is summer gone and school begun, but we're late into week 2 already! i put together a quick thank you for Ms Jill for the end of the 1st week. we presented it along with a beautiful sunflower plant and a box of godiva. i was so rushing that morning to get it together, that i didn't snap a pic of the whole ensemble-but at least i remembered the share the card lol!
i was inspired by the fab scene that Wanda Guess put together in her cute schoolhouse card- it's been ages since i cut out 'hills', made faux stitches, or made a card without using ANY patterned paper at all! :)
it was clean, simple & quick to put together (thank goodness), and i think it turned out super cute! i popped the tree way up in front to give it nice dimension (the eaves of the schoolhouse were popped slightly too):
and here's what i packed for her first lunch (i'm trying to improve my cute lunch making skills- thanks to Susan Yuen for her amazing blog and books packed with how to's and inspo- i tried to make her Perry the platypus from Phineas & Ferb)
she's almost 8!!
have a fabulous holiday weekend!
