twilight

it was amazing to be at a midnight premiere. the teenage girls went nuts from the second the title appeared on-screen. it was a thrill to be a part of the energy-- i felt 15 years younger. there were quite a few elementary school aged girls there with their mom's & sisters, and plenty of college aged, middle-aged & even older women there too.it was a total girls night out & something i haven't done in forever. i loved it.

Edward Cullen melts your heart every second he's on-screen, Rob Pattinson is just hot & did an awesome job. The whole cast is great. i wish they had a bit more of the Cullens in the film- i definitely wanted more Alice, Emmett & Rosalie and i wanted more Jacob too. i just wanted more!! LOL! thankfully, i can always break the books out again (i've read Twilight 4-5 times now)! i loved Stephenie Meyer's cameo- it is just like the ones Stephen King has in his films- made me smile! i so hope she'll keep 'popping' up somewhere in the next films. it was totally left open for the next film (books 2-3 will be combined for the next film i believe)
ahhh how i love this series! *swoon*

EDIT: As of Saturday evening, i've now seen the film 3 times! The premiere on Thursday/Midnight Friday, again on Friday evening, & yet again early today (Sat)! all of my friends weren't all able to go at the same time, so lucky me- i got to meet them all at different showings! 8) i'll go again anytime- call me! LOL

turning that frown upside-down

wow! i was having a very difficult day earlier and then some super happy mail flooded my inbox & unexpectedly cheered me up! today was the start of Jessica Sprague's Stories In Hand class--& there's still a few hours left for you to sign up for this amazing FREE class in case you haven't done so already! In the first 'class' she has supplied all the files to print/cut-out to make a very cute binder & dividers- good stuff! So i printed all my goodies out & assembled everything so when my album arrives, i can just pop everything in! love that it's done!
Also- Shimelle sent out a Journal Your Christmas email today! YAY!! You pay one time only & you're in for as long as you want to continue! this will be my second year. i'm hoping to get my book all ready long before Dec starts (ala Ali Edwards' december daily project) so i can keep up better this go round! it was so fun to log back in to Shimelle's online forums and say hello to everyone who's going to be JYC in '08- you can too, just visit the link above- this book is one of my very favorite projects of all time so i would be so happy if you play along!!

missin' my friends & the hubs!

today was the start of the ScrapETC Wrapper's Delight event- i was supposed to attend & was getting so excited see all my friends & give them giant hugs, get started on super cute holiday projects, take amazing classes & scrap the night away!! unfortunately, real life got in the way, when my husband's schedule was interrupted by a seriously huge list of projects. he's been working 7 days a week, 12-14 hour (during the week) days for a month now- animating videos & art directing an amazing booth for a client's upcoming convention. i had to cancel all our AL trip reservations & stay home with our baby girl. I have to say everyone was just wonderful despite my late cancellations. we're both trying to stay thankful for all the work- when so many other companies are struggling in this economy. it's still a bummer that my husband has to work SO many hours- so we're missing him too! i was so looking forward to the trip, but i know they're all having a heck of a good time at the event & i just wanted all my ScrapETC girls to know that i miss them & i love them so & hope they'll make some super cute Christmas cards & remember to send me one!! lol! can't wait to hear all the deets!!
^o^

hello world

my name is cupcake. my mom had a momentary lapse of sanity & brought me home from the animal shelter while we were visiting during a howl-o-ween event. they thought they were "just looking" & thought maybe they'd visit the little, young, smaller puppies- but ha! i found them first. i'm 9 months old and they shelter said that i am a blue heeler/Australian cattle dog/retriever/dalmation mix (but i really don't know what i am- but i sure am spotty & tall). i am super friendly and i love dogs and little kids. i am a destroyer of toys- i've gone through a half dozen this week already! i can jump and run as if i'm a greyhound or wippet or something. i'm goofy & friendly and they could never refuse me. besides, i picked out the dad of the family- it was love at first sight! gherkin likes to play, but gets grumpy easily with me, but i should help keep her young if i don't wear her out first. if i'm not full on playing, i am snuggly & sleeping, and like to stick my super long legs out on you (mom calls it 'giving me the sticks') i can easily reach up past every counter in the house, but mom is quickly teaching me that i can't do that. i'm super smart and love to play fetch. i am already very protective. i am 98% potty trained, which makes mom very happy. my favorite treats are busy bones & snausages. i am trouble. do you think my mom will change her mind?
EDIT: i went to the vet today (sat) & it turns out i'm a Catahoula Leopard Dog- the state dog of Louisiana!! hope we'll move to a home with lots of grass again someday! 8)
