hangin' in there

well we got through the difficult weekend. the viewings and funeral services were beautiful and very emotional. the Nelson family has a long road of healing ahead, and it will surely get harder for them once all the family and friends head home. we will be with them every step of the way with love, support and prayers. meanwhile, we are all still battling our allergies plus this cold/cough congestion ick- it is the worst, and seems like it's going to be one of those bouts that's going to hang around for 3-4 weeks. ugh. Chris is by far the worst of all of us, and with everything that's been going on of course, he's still got to get up & go to work everyday.
On to some happier notes, i am very excited because some fun projects i'm working on are gearing up!! it's almost the 25th of the month (totally freaking me out- where the heck did JUNE go??) and that means it's time for Scrap-your-day again (see the blinkie on the side bar). i'm also going to start a new mail swap with some great friends- it's an envelope round robin & i can't wait to see what we end up with! Oh and 52 card pick up at BPS started today! today is technique 1- an embossing paint resist-oooh sounds cool! i also did a digi-layout for a SISiversary challenge about myself & my 40th birthday (which was june 4th but i don't even think i posted since i was feeling old & freaked out)- i'll try & get some pics up later today after i finish my technique card! anyway- it feels good to write a bit!

sad news

sorry haven't been blogging much. mimi-c & chris are very sick with some sort of viral ick that has made their voices hoarse, fevers rage, and is now producing a horrible congested cough. they are quite the pair. i've been dr. mom since last wednesday or so. i've called in to the pediatrician, who says unless the fever is super high (103 or higher) it's not strep, and it'll all run its course. i already have the prescription cough/congestion medicine for toddlers, so we're on it. sadly, i have worse news to share. i'm requesting some thoughts & prayers for our business partner and his family, the Nelsons. They are some of our closest friends. it's with a heavy heart that i pass along the sad news that their son Johnny, suffered a terrible heart attack in his sleep on friday night, and is now in the icu on life support. he's being officially declared brain dead tomorrow. we, along with his family and friends, are grieving for this awful loss. i will miss his wonderful, warm smile; his laugh, and his free spirit. Johnny was always true to himself, and was a loving, kind-hearted, all-around-cool dude. we will miss him terribly, and remember him often. please keep him and his family in your heart. thanks so much- the prayers and kind thoughts really do help.

we bought a fun face-painting kit to play with today to celebrate the last day of preschool. did my sweetness want a butterfly face, or a flower, or a happy panda on her cheek? um, no way dude- she chose vampire and she's rockin' it!
hope you're friday is off to a great start too! i'm gonna pop me open a cold corona light with some fresh lime & make some fun creative messes! yessss!

diggin' the scrapblog!

it's fun & fast- although it has been a bit buggy on my Mac laptop with saving & publishing, i'm sure they're working it all out. can't wait until you can print them.
i'm not creating a 'book', but individual layouts. i've only done like 2 or 3 other digi layouts before & this is super easy to pick up....so give it a go!
