halloween project goodness!

i am so into the halloween projects this year- guess it's cause my sweet baby girl is getting big enough to really start getting into all the festivities!
so here's a couple pictures of some projects i just finished:

First up- i just completed Valerie Salmon's spooky book. i totally love how it turned out. i ordered a limited edition kit from her that came with all the papers & embellies. i so thoroughly enjoyed putting this one together.
you can make a book of your own too. she is sold out of the kits, but is offering a download of how-to-instructions (kit used Scenic Route Salem line-but you could use any cute halloween papers & embellies in your stash) & she includes some really cute bonus labels she created. the cost is like $16-& you can find it on Valerie Salmon's website! it is so so fun! just make one already!!

next up, is the Jenni Bowlin project kit the Oct kit is everything needed to make a bunch of adorable halloween skewers. it uses the Cosmo Cricket Haunted line- stickers, journaling blocks & matching blackboard- these are just so stinkin' cute! The JB monthly project kits are always spectacular & cost less than $20. they are always quick & easy & super cool. you know i love Jenni Bowlin!! happy happy

Third- MC & i did some more baking this week & made some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that are just really dang good. i found the recipe on heidi swapp's blog. they are easy & delicious & the main reason that i'm not going to lose one pound this week- but you know what? i'm ok with that! so i've decided i may as well take anyone reading this post down with me...lol
please note that the dough for these is very wet & globs onto the cookie sheets from the spoon/small cookie scoop- but do not worry. they puff up into cake-like yum yums.
preheat the oven well & don't overcook them. 12 min. is good and you'll want to eat some right away. enjoy!

PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 c. pumpkin
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (optional)

Dissolve baking soda in milk; set aside. In large bowl add pumpkin, sugar, oil, and egg; stir. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and baking soda mixture. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and vanilla. Spoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes or until done.

what's next you say? well next up, we have Virginia's fun fun book to make! wanna make one with me?? you can totally play along too! order a kit from ScrapETC & watch the video! i'll post when we get it finished. hurry- because the free online class will only be up until the 31st!!

last week was just crazy!!

goodness, i didn't even have 10 minutes to spare to blog last week & the weekend has blown by in a blur & here i am on Monday night! geesh!! well- last week, we had lots going on... we had to make lots of treat bags for two preschool class parties, tried on at least 10 different costumes, baked & decorated sugar cookies, started some halloween scrappy projects, went to the Vegas Renaissance festival (the local barbarian guild, the dogs of war, are close friends & co-workers of ours!), went to a local pumpkin patch/mini-carnival. Meanwhile, the hubs had a terrible cold and had to sleep on the couch for a few days. His schedule is just insane- he has to work 15 hours or more/day + weekend hours for the next month straight! He's gearing up for the G2E Convention, where one of our VIP clients will have a huge installation. My husband & our agency designed the look for the booth of a very big gaming company- including a 360 degree video presentation. it should be amazing when it's finished. hope i'll get to go visit the floor of the expo! anyway- here's some pics!

the gifts-tons o' pics (edited)

edited post: hope all the images aren't too terrible to download- just had to share!

i made the little altered book for my husband as an anniversary gift. it's also my submission for the first week of the finals for the SIS design contest (project catwalk). he really loves it.
well, we had quite an adventure last night! my husband came home in a red '57 chevy bel air that was jaw dropping gorgeous. i screamed out loud thinking he bought the insanely expensive, fantastic classic car, and was totally relieved to find out it was only rented for the weekend! we all went out for a fun meal at cheesburger, cheesburger (a 50's style burger/shake place no less) and afterwards, decided to cruise on the strip. man oh man did our daughter ever LOVE it! it was really great. While we're heading back home, we stopped at our office to make sure the staff locked the back door. it was like 9:15 or so. no big deal. we went in for a minute, then got back in our hip ride & well,it wouldn't start! totally dead. we called the rental car place, who sent a guy with another '57 chevy bel air- a black one. oh it was jaw dropping sweet! funny thing is, it had starting trouble too! so, he drove back to the lot for yet another classic car. He came back with a '40's suburban (the zz top car) black & red, all hot-rodded out with a flame paint job. it was pretty cool- but not nearly as nice as the other cars. by the time we got back home it was 11:30pm, & we had one tired kiddo on our hands. i was pretty beat too. funny thing is we had a really old buick (1927 i think) on our wedding day, and we had starter trouble that day too! lol! must be us & our heavy-duty, battery draining, electro-zappin' love- ooooh baby!

sixteen years ago

today we were married. we have been so blessed. i am so thankful for this amazing man, our beautiful daughter, and our love filled life together. he still makes me laugh, wipes my tears when i cry, comforts me when i'm sick, puts up with my moments of insanity, spoils me like crazy, and loves me always. he is all i've ever wanted, and more. i am so proud of him, and of us, and look forward to more of our 'happily ever after'. i love you cross, forever.
